FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is a foot care nurse?2023-03-03T15:15:49-07:00

A foot care nurse is a registered nurse (RN) or a licensed practical nurse (LPN) who has completed specialized foot care training.

Foot care nurses provide people with chronic pain, joint troubles, reduced vision, and who find it hard to reach their feet, help with ongoing maintenance of their feet.

Regular foot care visits will help keep nails from growing too long, making walking in shoes uncomfortable. Corns will be removed. Calluses will be maintained to prevent them from getting thick and cracked. Ingrown and involuted nails can be managed by using different techniques. Also, the foot care nurse can help a diabetic client maintain their feet.

The foot care nurse will inspect your feet and discuss your options. Sometimes it will be a simple solution, or your nail may need more attention. ONYFIX is an epoxy resin bonded to your nail and helps lift the nail corners into proper alignment. This is a great alternative to having ingrown toenail surgery.
